Kent Stainless have recently been awarded the "Contractor of the Month" award for April 2010, in the prestigious new Terminal 2 site at Dublin Airport.

Beating off competition from 140 other contractors, the award was based on quality of the finished product supplied to the Airport.

Kent Stainless were recently comissioned to design and manufacture numerous awards for the " BeatFM - Talbot Hotel Sports personality Awards".

The stylish electropolished design, coupled with hardwood timber base and laser cut "Beat FM" & "Talbot Hotel" logos, gave a real flair and unique twist to the awards.  Brian Coady (Kilkenny senior hurling manager), Noel Hunt (Rep. of Ireland & Reading soccer player) and the legendary commentator Micheal O Muircheartaigh were the lucky recipients of the awards on the night.

Kent Stainless recently completed a major surface protection contract in the Norman Manley International Airport, Kingston, Jamaica.  Kent Stainless were choosen ahead of numerous worldwide manufacturers who tendered for the contract.

Kent Stainless designed, manufactured and installed the surface protection over a 10 week period.

The new terminal building will have a three-level departures concourse of approximately 170,000ft² (10,000m²) and will be integrated with the existing ticketing concourse.  The project seeks to increase the airport's capacity to cater for projected air and passenger traffic.

Kent Stainless was recently awarded a major contract under the "Transport 21" programme.  Working closely with the RPA Kent Stainless have been awarded the contract to supply all new Luas stations with all the furniture they require - shelters, litter bins, passenger information displays, balustrade and advertsising columns.

This is the second contract that the company has been awarded having successfully completed the upgrade of all seating at Hueston station.

Kent Stainless won the project on the basis of skill, experience, knowledge and expertise coupled with the capabilities and capacity to finish on time and within budget.

Samples will be approved in early June '08 with the first installations coming later in the year.

Kent Stainless will again showcase our products at "Cityscape 2008" in the Earls Court, London.  The show will take place from the 26th - 28th February 2008. 

The highlight of the Kent Stainless stand (stand C50) will be our new range of LED bollards and illuminated bollards.  As well as this we will be displaying a large range of our existing stainless steel street furniture range as well as our external drainage products such as recessed access covers and facade drainage. 

Kent Stainless employee Ken Clooney will represent Ireland in Sheet Metal Work in the Worlds Skills Final.  The competition will be held in Shizuoka Japan from the 10^th – 18^th November 2007. This is a truly great achievement for Ken and is a wonderful opportunity for him.  Great credit must go to him and his family, the company and his instructors (at both FAS and D.I.T.) - all of whom played a part in his achievement.

Kent Stainless other representative Eamonn Maloney also did the company proud in the recent National Skills Competition.  An overall third place for Eamonn in the “Sheetmetal worker of the year competition” is a fantastic achievement. 

Kent Stainless will be the sole supplier of stainless steel bollards to the new Wembley Stadium.  Using Kent Stainless design for removable bollards, the bollards will act as barriers on match days while providing car park areas and walkways on non match days.

Kent Stainless have built up a steady working relationship with the contractor in the past 12 months.  Kent engineers have worked closely with the on site design team to come up with the most aesthetic solution at an affordable price.

Kent Stainless street furniture range continues to develop with the introduction of the new 'Illuminated Bollard'.  Designed and manufactured in house by Kent Stainless engineers the new bollard is ideal for landscaped gardens, apartment blocks and walkways.

The strong construction combined with the baspelate fixing ensures the bollard against accidental damage.  The new illuminated bollard is available in numerous finishes from electro polished to bead blasted as well as slope top, dome top and flat top alternatives being available.

Kent Stainless new Stainless steel bin has just been launched.  The stylish bin incorporates an ashtray as standard with seamless integration and division from 'normal' rubbish.  This safety measure ensures the risk of fire is minimalised while emptying. 

The slope top design ensures that no rain water will stand on top of the bin while the rigid stainless steel design ensures the threat of vandalism is exceptionally low.

Kent Stainless have increased its stock bollards to include slope top and dome top bollards.  Manufactured from 3mm thick, grade 316 stainless steel, all bollards are finished to a high polish standard.

Kent Stainless bollards have been used around Ireland in apartment complexes, hotels, car showrooms and petrol stations.

Kent Stainless seating, as part of Kent Stainless growing stainless steel street furniture range, can now be seen in the Luas Heuston station. 

In conjunction with the Railway Procurement Agency, Kent Stainless contrasted the stainless steel frame with treated Iroko timber to give a stunning effect.  The custom built solution is wall mounted in some areas while it is mounted to the existing shelter in other areas.

Kent Stainless was recently contracted by Foster and Partners in the major redevelopment of the Albion Wharf area in London.  This major riverside development has a 180m riverside frontage with river walls up to 70 years old as well as the 'Thameswalk flats' and 'Glassmill' office development. 

Kent Stainless manufactured and supplied stainless steel shear type bollards and bicycle racks for the area as well as innovative man hole covers which integrate with the surrounding paving.  Other installations in the area included light boxes, lifebouy holders and standard bollards.

The new Kent Stainless Automatic Deluge Gully

Designed for the Pharmaceutical, Biopharm and chemical industries and in particular the clean room areas.  The Kent clean room gully cover forms an airtight seal, eliminating the use of open drains and therefore protecting the clean room enviorment. 

A pneumatic cylinder opens the clean room cover in the event of the sprinkler system being activated, or if vessels empty or any other discharge.  It can also be opened when floor drainage is required on an occasional or intermittent basis when the clean room gets cleaned or disinfected.  This is normally operated by sensor control or manual control.

Kent Stainless have been involved in the design of a new facade drainage system and are manufacturing and supplying facade drains to the new Norman Foster designed GLA (Greater London Assembly) building and the redevelopment at More London water front between Tower Bridge and London Bridge, incorporating offices and public amities.  Designed to run along curve or straight glazing and walls, the facade drain provides a hidden drainage system, with only a 10mm slot visible in the paving.

"The landscaped area immediately around the City Hall is the first of a series of intergrated public spaces.  The spaces will be opened in phases and will ensure a high quality public domain and a series of lively and attractive places for all to enjoy........situated on the river and with views towards the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, it will be one of London's larger new public squares when completed.  The new square is paved throughout in Blue Irish Limestone from Kilkenny in Eire.  Featuring a sreies of gentle gradients it is designed to provide full access to all groups.  A system of hidden slot drains will remove the need for gullies there by enchancing the qualities of the pedestrain surface."
